This module will provide an overview of Like Family's cancellation policy and provide guidance to Social Carers on cancelling bookings.
Can I cancel a booking?
Social Carers are able to cancel their bookings if required. However, due to the important nature of the support they provide, we ask that Social Carers do not cancel bookings unless absolutely unavoidable. In the event you need to cancel, please notify the member and Like Family team as soon as possible.
Can Members cancel bookings?
Yes. Members can cancel bookings with Social Carers up until 24 hours prior to the booking's scheduled start time. Cancellations requested within this 24-hour window will be charged and Social Carers will receive payment for the time they set aside to perform the booking.
As the Social Carer, you may elect to waive your payment for a booking that is cancelled late. Instead, you may decide to simply reschedule. This is done at your discretion and its not something you are obligated to do.
Can a Member ask me to leave a booking before the scheduled end time? If so, will I be paid for the booking in full?
Yes. Members can ask Social Carers to leave booking before the scheduled end time. However, Social Carers are entitled to receive payment for the entire time they were booked for.
If you are booked for 4 hours but asked to leave after 2, you are eligible to receive payment for 4 hours worth of work.
