COVID-19 Vaccination Policy

As a registered NDIS provider, Like Family and its Social Carers are subject to all government mandates regarding vaccinations for disability support workers

NSW Social Carers

In accordance with NSW government requirements, COVID-19 Vaccinations are mandatory for ALL Social Carers in New South Wales. 

The time frames for receiving your vaccinations (as provided by NSW health) are outlined below:

  • As of 9:00 AM on 25 October 2021, Social Carers must not provide support services unless they have received their first COVID-19 Vaccination.
  • From 9:00 AM on 29 November 2021, Social Carers must not provide support services unless they have received both doses of their COVID Vaccination.

Proof of your vaccination status must be uploaded to your Social Carer profile within these timeframes, or you will no longer be eligible to source work via the Like Family platform.

VIC Social Carers

In accordance with VIC government mandates, COVID-19 Vaccinations are mandatory for ALL Victorian Social Carers. 

The mandate states that by October 15th, 2021, Social Carers must be:
  • fully vaccinated with two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, or
  • have received their first dose and have a booking to receive their second dose by 15 December 2021, or
  • haven't received any doses but have a booking to receive their first dose by 29 October 2021.

Proof of your vaccination status must be uploaded to your Social Carer profile within these timeframes, or you will no longer be eligible to source work via the Like Family platform. 

Social Carers providing support in residential Aged Care facilities

If you are a Social Carer providing supports to members living in a residential aged care facility, you are required to have obtained your first COVID-19 vaccination by September 17th, 2021, regardless of your location. This is in accordance with a decision made by the National Cabinet on June, 28th, 2021. You can read more about residential aged care worker vaccine requirements here.  

QLD Social Carers

In accordance with QLD government mandates, COVID-19 Vaccinations are mandatory for ALL Queensland Social Carers. 

The mandate states that by December 15th, 2021, Social Carers must be:

  • fully vaccinated with two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine

Proof of your vaccination status must be uploaded to your Social Carer profile within these timeframes, or you will no longer be eligible to source work via the Like Family platform. 

Getting your COVID-19 Vaccination 

You can find available vaccination appointments in your area by clicking on the links below. Please note that the links are not to be viewed as an exhaustive list and that you may also be able to book your vaccination via your local GP, Pharmacy, or Vaccination Hub. Under any lockdown restrictions that are implemented in your area, travel is always permitted for the purpose of obtaining your vaccination.
