How do I apply for an NDIS Worker Screening Check?

The process of applying for your NDIS Worker Screening Check depends on the state in which you are located

An NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWC) can be obtained by applying through your state's designated Worker Screening Unit. The clearance is then valid for 5 years (subject to ongoing monitoring).

All the information you need to apply for the Check, as well as the associated links and costs, are included below.

Please note: It may take 1-2 weeks for your NDISWC to be processed by your state's Worker Screening Unit, a third party with which Like Family has no association. This means we, unfortunately, cannot assist you with enquiries pertaining to your application should you run into any issues.

Who needs an NDIS Worker Screening Check?

You must obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check if you would like to support NDIS participants on our platform. This Check will assess whether you pose any sort of risk to people with disability.

What information do I need for my NDIS Worker Check application?

As you go through the process of applying for the NDISWC, you will be required to provide details of your "Employer". For the purpose of this check, Like Family can be listed as your employer, meaning your application can be attached to our organisation. It is important to remember, though, that you are an independent contractor, and any other documents or checks you may need to obtain (such as a Working with Children's Check, Blue Card or Australian Business Number) will not be attached to Like Family directly.

In order to find Like Family in the NDISWC database, you will need the following information:

  • Our NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission number is 4-3LLK-349
  • Our name is Home Care Heroes Pty Ltd trading as Like Family
  • For the address section: Please enter your own home address as you are an independent contractor.
