Providing 100 Points of Identification

If asked by the Like Family team, Social Carers must be able to verify their identity and right to work by producing 100 points of identification.

In order to provide support on the Like Family platform, you must be able to provide 100 points of ID and verify your right to work upon request.

Right to Work

Australian and New Zealand citizens, as well as permanent residents, do not have restrictions on their right to work in Australia. However, working rights may be restricted due to other factors (such as criminal history).

Documents that are proof of the Right to Work:
  • Full Australian Birth Certificate (if born before 20 August 1986) and a form of photo ID
  • Full Australian Birth Certificate (if born on or after 20 August 1986), a form of a photo ID and evidence that at least one parent was an Australian citizen or permanent resident at the time of the child's birth
  • Australian Citizenship Certificate
  • Australian Passport
  • New Zealand Passport
  • New Zealand Birth Certificate and a form of photo ID
  • Certificate of evidence of resident status
  • Valid visa with work rights.

If you do not fall into the above three categories, then your right to work is determined by the status and conditions of your Visa.

Points of ID

The table below provides a breakdown of documents that can be accepted for identity verification, as well as their associated value. The easiest way to verify your identity is to provide a copy of your birth certificate and driver licence.

You must provide us with:
  • at least one document from either Category A or Category B, that is, you do not need to provide documents from both categories, as long as all other minimum requirements are satisfied,
  • the combination of documents supplied should, as a minimum equal a total of 100 points, and
