Whilst you are not required to have formal qualifications in disability or aged care, minimum background checks and training requirements apply to all work available on the Like Family platform.
Given the specific services Social Carers are able to offer on the Like Family platform, Social Carers are not required to have formal qualifications in disability or aged care.
However, as a registered NDIS provider, Like Family does require those who wish to work on our platform to undertake and complete specific training modules offered by the NDIS Commission and Australian Government, depending on the level of access they wish to have to our platform.
Levels 1 & 2: Non-NDIS Domestic Assistance & Social Support
COVID-19 Infection Control Module
All Social Carers on the Like Family platform must complete a COVID-19 infection control module to ensure they understand how to keep themselves and their Members safe, and reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection. Upon completion of this training, you must upload your certificate to your Social Carer profile prior to being eligible to work on our platform.

Level 3: NDIS Domestic Assistance and Social Support
NDIS Worker Orientation Module
The NDIS Worker Orientation Module is an interactive course that outlines the responsibilities of workers under the NDIS Code of Conduct from the perspective of NDIS participants. The four modules it consists of take approximately 90 minutes to complete in total. Once completed, you will receive a certificate of completion that can be uploaded to your Social Carer account. You will be required to provide this certificate of completion prior to being able to work as a Social Carer.

Further Learning
The following training modules are not required in order to work on the Like Family platform, however due to the valuable information they cover, we strongly encourage every Social Carer to complete them:
NDIS Induction Module
The NDIS Induction Module is a collection of 8 different trainings that cover important information about working in the disability sector. If working as a Social Carer will be your first experience with the disability sector, it is recommended that you complete all 8 trainings prior to commencing work. The NDIS Induction Module will add to your understanding of principles that will be covered during your Like Family Induction.
You can access the modules using the same login details you will create for your Worker Orientation Module. To be redirected, click here.
