Services we DO NOT provide
Our Social Carers cannot assist with medical care. This includes:
- Medical care, like treating wounds or managing medication
- Professional services, like giving legal advice or personal training
Focusing on social and community support helps us keep our hourly rates simple and affordable.
Like Family facilitates companionship and non-medical support services to Members. To ensure the safety of both our Members and independent contractors, there are strict limitations on the types of services that can be provided.
Independent contractors engaged through Like Family are not permitted to perform the following services under any circumstances:

Manual handling, hoists, and transfers

Palliative care
-
Massage
-
Medication management
-
Wound care
Performing these services is outside the scope of Like Family’s approved services and will not be covered by our insurance policies. Contractors who choose to engage in these activities do so at their own risk and must have their own insurance coverage.
