Social Carers are able to decide what Members they would like to work with and the types of services they would like to provide. This article contains information regarding Like Family's onboarding requirements to work with NDIS Members.
As a registered NDIS provider, Like Family is a trusted organisation that provides support services to a variety of Members who have NDIS funding. Activities that are posted by NDIS participants commonly involve requests for:
- Social outings and events
- Skill building
- Meal preparation and cooking
- Transport services
- Community access support
- Domestic assistance
In order to work with Members who are NDIS participants, you must meet all of the following onboarding requirements:
- 100 points of ID and the right to work in Australia
- An ABN
- 3 references
- COVID-19 Vaccination
- Certificate of completion for the COVID-19 Infection Control module
- An NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Certificate of completion for the NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Successful completion of the Like Family Induction
If you wish to be able to provide transport services to these Members, you will also need to provide:
- A copy of your Australian driver licence
- The registration details of any vehicle you may use when providing these services
If you are working with a Member who have a mealtime management plan, you will also need to provide:
- A certificate of completion for the NDIS Supporting Safe and Enjoyable Meals module
What is the Like Family Induction?
The Like Family induction is an online Zoom call that functions as a group interview. Attendees are assessed using case studies and quiz questions to determine whether they have the skills necessary to provide support services to Like Family Members.
